About the Opportunity
Cowra Council has an exciting opportunity for a Human Resources Manager to take up a pivotal strategic role.
Reporting to the General Manager, this role will find the successful applicant responsible for leading the human resources strategy and supporting the unit's key activities of People and Performance, Organisational Development, Industrial Relations and Workers Compensation Management.
Daily duties will include (but will not be limited to):
- Providing leadership and critical professional HR advice to the Management team;
- Promoting, coordinating and communicating organisational change and initiatives;
- Investigating, researching, developing, implementing and maintaining effective Human Resources policies, practices and systems; and
- Maintaining a sound knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, policies and guidelines relevant to area of responsibility, and ensuring that activities comply with relevant legislation, standards and policies.
This is an excellent opportunity for a strategic leader to bring their HR management skills to a rewarding and influential role.
To be considered applicants must have a degree in Human Resources (or similar) coupled with extensive knowledge and experience in the provision of human resource services, preferably within a local government context. In addition, you will have demonstrated ability in strategic thinking, analysis and planning, in order to effectively achieve business outcomes.
Cowra Council is looking for an effective leader with outstanding interpersonal communication and negotiation skills, enabling you to motivate and mentor teams whilst building effective professional relationships with your colleagues. Importantly, you'll also have well-developed skills in dispute resolution and project management.
